THE STRANGE CASE OF DR JEKYLL AND MR HYDE
A Version For The Stage Adapted from Robert Louis Stevenson’s Book
By Eberle Thomas and Barbara Redmond
September 27, 28, 29 and October 4, 5, 6, 2013

Directed by Dwayne Donald, this story is ingeniously told from the perspective of Inspector Newcomen, from Scotland Yard, who is assigned to the case. He has the grim task of finding the murderous man (or beast?) terrorizing London. Thomas and Redmond do more than a simple retelling of this ancient horror story. They are true to, but also expand upon, Stevenson’s philosophical and psychological examination of one man’s maniacal quest to understand the good and evil in the nature of man. This play wonderfully dramatizes how the good doctor finds much more than he bargained for.

Friday and Saturday night shows will be at 7:30 PM; the Sunday Matinees will be at 2:30 PM.
