Lani has been active in theatre, both professionally and as a hobby, for almost 40 years. She began with costuming, creating pieces for competitions and becoming an awarded Master Costumer. Lani has costumed many shows, large and small. Favorites include Sweeny Todd, Oliver!, and The Music Man. Lani is also an accomplished actress and has graced many stages throughout the metro Atlanta area. Favorite roles include Nancy in Oliver!, Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof, Tin Man in Wizard of Oz, and, most recently, Ms. Trunchbull in HCCT’s production of Matilda. Lani was the 2005 winner of the Metro Atlanta Theatre Award for Best Lead Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of Queen Sophia in The Butterfly Scroll.
Lani worked a multiple theatres before beginning her career as a theater teacher for the Montessori Schools of Atlanta.
Lani has directed several shows here at HCCT, including The Wizard of Oz, Little Shop of Horrors, Mary Poppins and To Kill A Mockingbird.
Lani is excited to direct Into the Woods. Well, excited and scared! Sondheim is NOT easy!
